To whom it may concern:
My name is Deborah Landry, and I own a pre-school in town, educating over fifty 3, 4 and 5 year-olds each year. Playland has served the Enfield community for more than forty years.
This October I had the opportunity to provide my students with a wonderful and unique experience. Earlier in this school year I had met with Jonathan Metcalf of Integrity Centers to discuss implementing a karate program within my pre-school. He then came for a demonstration, which the children loved. I was impressed with Jonathan’s credentials, and his natural ability with the children.
Jonathan also brought with him to Playland an additional instructor, Janice Morton. I have known Janice on a personal level for over two years, as she has sent her children to Playland for the last three years. I was also immediately impressed with Janice. Not only does she have a natural way about her, she is passionate about self-defense, loves what she does and passes that enthusiasm along to her students.
Jonathan and Janice started the karate program in October. It was offered to the first twenty children. The class quickly filled and now March still has a waiting list.
The parents whose children attend the program have raved about it, including myself, as my son also attends the program. Jonathan and Janice have gone out of their way to include the parents in special belt advancement ceremonies. The children love showing their new abilities and it gives the parents a chance to see what the children are learning.
The program has not only been about self-defense, but about self-respect, self-esteem, and respect for others. The instructors have taught these valuable concepts in a fun and interesting way. I would highly recommend this program to anyone with children.
